GREEN VOLLEY takes place in Faedis (Ud) in Friuli Venezia Giula, Italy. It is a sporting event that always involves many participants.

It was founded in 1993 as a volleyball competition but it soon developed into a larger venue with many different sport disciplines represented. Green Volley has grown from 200 athletes in 1993 to 3081 participanting athletes in 2006.

The 2008 tournament is going to take place from the 17th to the 20th of July. There will be many sporting events such as: volleyball, male and female soccer, over 35 soccer, walking race, fencing, table tennis, darts, morra, armwrestling, Off-Road 4x4, orienteering, soft air, hip hop, rugby, basketball, pram basketball, chess and poker. The events will all be accompained by live music. By night Green Volley will be hosting some of the best cover bands of Friuli and others from around Italy.

The event takes place over 250.000 square meters and on race cources that stretch over the whole territory of Faedis. The central area is equipped with all the facilities needed to welcome the athletes for three days of sport, music, friendship and happyness.

There are a lot of soccer and volleyball fields, a gym that holds up to 500 people, a soccer field with a grandstand that holds up to 800 people, indoor and outdoor toilet facilities, free camping and parking, food, beer and wine stands, 2 big tents for music venues and field hospitals with ambulances and medical/paramedical staff available during all the competitions.

A lot of sport associations sponsored the numerous matches, in particular A.S.D. OL3 - A.S.D. ProG&T of Faedis, Nimis and Povoletto. The incomes are then split between the various associations and therefore they are going to be used for granting the sport apparatus for the coming year
